Current Issue - Ec(h)oing Tales

	EDITORIAL Sophia Emmanouilidou received her Ph.D. from the School of English at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, with distinctions in 2003, and on a full scholarship from the Foundation of National Scholarships in Greece (IKY). She was a Fulbright grantee at the University of Texas, Austin, and the John F. Kennedy Institute (JFKI) for North American Studies, Freie Universität of Berlin. She has published several articles on Chicana/o literature and identity-focused theories. Her interests include border cultures, social studies, ecocriticism and ecofeminism. She is the co-editor of the volume Transnational Interconnections of Nature Studies and the Environmental Humanities (2020), Ex-centric Narratives: Journal of Anglophone Literature, Culture and Media, vol. 3 (2019) and the Special Issue of Revista Canaria de Estudios Ingleses,vol. 81 (2020). Her latest project is editing the Greek translation of Tino Villanueva’s So Spoke Penelope (Vakhikon Publications 2022). As of May 2022, she serves as the Program Coordinator for The Society for Multi-Ethnic Studies: Europe and the Americas (MESEA) (see: https://mesea.org/). She is presently affiliated with, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Department of American Literature and Culture.
Cosmoland
	Chatzisaroglou Despoina holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and she is currently studying for two master’s degrees regarding the ICT Implementation in Education and Lifelong Learning from University of Macedonia and the Teaching of English as a Foreign/International Language from Hellenic Open University. She works as an English Teacher, and her interests include environmental and cultural studies as well as creative writing.

Shop to Kill
	Athena Papadopoulou is a passionate advocate for literature and technology. She graduated from the School of English at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and holds an MSc in Immersive Technologies - Innovation in Education, Training, and Game Design. Athena is also a prolific writer with a deep love for literature. Her work has been published in a variety of venues, including Poeticanet, the Experimental Narratives International Symposium, and the ASRP website. She is passionate about using literature to inspire learners and create a welcoming environment for all, especially for individuals with learning difficulties. She is using her skills to create innovative educational experiences that combine literature and technology. She is currently studying for an MA in English and American Studies at Aristotle University while tutoring and working as an author manager at Cobalt Fairy.
	Eleni Kioura has always been fascinated by the idea of teaching, so she decided to instruct her friends and cousins every afternoon when in primary school, despite their inclination to play as children normally do during their free time. Her early aptitude for teaching and her passion for the English language and culture led her to the School of English at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, where she graduated as a professional English teacher in 2022. Furthermore, she is keen on linguistic research. In the context of her senior thesis, she conducted research on the phonetics of the Vlach dialect, hailing from Metsovo, a picturesque and Vlach-speaking town close to Ioannina, in Epirus. As a postgraduate student, she is currently investigating the effectiveness of a task-based approach on pronunciation teaching in Greek EFL classrooms. She works in a private language school where she fulfills her dream of teaching and inspiring young people through learning English. Eleni is also a member of the Hellenic Authority of Higher Education, where she monitors and evaluates undergraduate and postgraduate programs while she also serves as an oral examiner for English qualification exams in Greece. Despite being a lover of linguistics, she avidly reads literature. Eleni is convinced that literature can be an entertaining way to effectively acquire a foreign or second language.

The Blue Pirouettes
	Maria Kazgkouti is an undergraduate student at the department of English language and literature of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Over the course of her first year of studies, she participated in a tandem language learning program and attended a virtual session of the TICL with the Audio and Podcast Unit of the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Parliament, both of which augmented her interest in the domain of translation. In addition to that, the literary workshops she was registered in throughout the past two years, inspired and prompted her to explore her potential in creative writing beyond academia and ameliorated her abilities in literary analysis.
	Theofania Liousa is currently an undergraduate student at the department of English Language and Literature, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Thus far, she has participated in tandem language learning programs, as well as in several poetry, fiction, and drama workshops. Prior to studying in the School of English, she has also been actively involved in eTwinning and Erasmus + projects.
	Dimitra Karagianni is a third-year undergraduate student at the School of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Throughout her first year of studies, she discovered her interest in literature and poetry, and at the moment, she is striving to broaden her knowledge on this field by doing some research, and reading an abundance of literary books on a daily basis. When she finishes her studies in Thessaloniki, she aspires to pursue a master’s degree in England and live there for a few years.
	Georgia Katsi is an undergraduate student at the School of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her studies not only have increased her pre-existing love and admiration for English language and literature but has also led her to embark on her own journey in experimenting with writing stories. She is also interested in translation and interpretation and would like to pursue a career in this field.

The Moth and the Light
	Nadia Kostarellou is a third-year student at the Department of English Literature and Language at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has a deep interest in English literature. She has familiarized herself with many of its genres and landmark texts throughout the course of her studies.
	Eleftheria (Eria) Kyritsi is a third year student at the Department of English Language and Literature of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her interests include Cultural and Translation Studies, as well as modern literature and history.
	Mademli Glykeria Anastasia is a third-year English Language and Literature student at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her studies have led her to develop a passion for literary studies and visual arts, such as film and theater. Specifically, she is interested in narratives that examine female representation in the media, avant-garde, and in-depth character analysis.
	Maria Ioanna Makridou is a third-year student at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, majoring in English Language and Literature. She has always been captivated by the world of literature, and her passion for it has only grown stronger throughout her studies. A field in which she finds herself interested is creative writing, as a form of expression that stimulates readers and writers emotionally as well as intellectually.
	Zoe Marmalidou is an udergraduate student in the Department of English Language and Literature, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is particularly interested in all kinds of artistic activities, drawing, painting, embroidery and even writing, as well as reading narratives concerning gender and socio-cultural issues all around the world.

The Little Swallow
	Anastasia Kokkali is an undergraduate student at the School of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She loves reading and writing about mythical and fantastical worlds, as well as her dog, Friend, who might not be as friendly as his name indicates. She especially likes poetry, the Greek epics and mythology.
	Marianna Marmaridou is an undergraduate student pursuing her BA in English from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. From an early age, she experienced an interest in dramatic writing and cinema, as well as history, spirituality, and literature, being passionate about Medieval, Gothic, and Romantic art and writing. She loves language learning and is currently attending Russian classes. She hopes to explore other academic interests in the future, such as LGBTQIA and intersectional feminist studies, cinematic writing, and theatre studies.
	Theofania Evmorfia Melissanidou was introduced to literature at a young age and has adored it ever since. Her passion and love for reading is what made her select the Department of English Language and Literature at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The mesmerizing stories she has stumbled upon through the years is what intrigued her to study English and start writing her own stories.

A Friendly Bait
	Sofia Mavrou is an undergraduate student of English Language and Literature at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is very interested in the notions of effective teaching and of successful evaluation regarding the English language. She has published a number of articles in the online magazine OffLine Post as part of her voluntary work.
	Foteini Lioliou studies English Language and Literature at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has always been interested in literature and the way literature touches people’s hearts. She hopes that one day she will create a piece of writing that will inspire others. Her journey to writing a heartfelt story has just begun.
	Paraskevi Koursarakou studies English Language and Literature at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since she was in elementary school, she has developed a great passion for books, especially for those that convey a message of morality. She is an aspiring person and strongly believes in the power of choice. She has also taken part in a variety of debating competitions that have helped her enhance her persuasive skills.
